About
Since Bert was 6 years old, she has shared her life with her equine friends. Now, far too many years on to mention, she has huge experience of working with, handling, training and competing many different horses, from many different backgrounds.
She has trained her own horses to advanced level dressage and to Paralympic level, representing her country at over 20 International competitions including the Rio Paralympics and 2 World Equestrian Games, as well as having worked in several International dressage barns.
Bert particularly enjoys working with the more challenging, nervy or ugly duckling kinds of horses. She finds nothing more rewarding than nurturing a relationship and training partnership with her 'waifs and strays'!
She loves helping other riders discover their own horsemanship/dressage journeys, seeing the fulfilment they get from achieving trust, harmony and ultimately competition success, if that's what they want to do.

Bert's experience has shown her that good, sympathetic dressage training is good for every horse. And it has the power to totally transform a horse's body and mind without compromising his spirit.
Due to her disability (and philosophy!), Bert has to work with her horses in a very ethical way, using technique, timing and psychology rather than strength to achieve positive outcomes. This positive, tactful way of training is the basis for her entire mentorship programme.
